Aunt Betty’s Attic
An important source of income and other resources for the Mizell Senior Center is Aunt Betty’s Attic. Currently, our little store operates from a space that is 21’ by 21’. When we can offer more space, more income will be generated to support the programs and services of the Mizell Senior Center. Opportunities to underwrite this capital project in full or in part will help us toward our goal.

Outreach & Meals on Wheels Van, Hybrid Technology
Although we provide a large number and variety of services to the seniors at our facility, and at various senior housing facilities in Palm Springs and Cathedral City, we know there are seniors we are not reaching, but who need our services. The purchase of a community outreach van would enable us to visit area shopping centers and mobile home parks to provide information, health, and educational programs to additional seniors in the community.
Cost: $32,000
Carpeting
The Mizell Senior Center’s traffic has increased as we have made a larger impact on our community’s seniors’ needs. It certainly shows as the carpet has worn in the center. New carpeting will allow a warmer and cozier experience at Mizell.

Dining Room Flooring
The dining floor is covered with carpet. In the dining room, it becomes very difficult to keep spot free. Easy maintained vinyl flooring will solve this problem.
Cost: $15,000
Painting
The Multipurpose Room is used for many events including daily meal service, and daily programs. The offices, counseling rooms, and other program areas are in need of a fresh coat of paint as well.
Cost: $2,500 per room
Computers
Our staff is working on old and outdated computers. New computers would help us meet the demands of our growing programs and services as well as keep up with new and emerging technology.
Cost: $1,500 per computer station
Office Reception Chairs
Our Office Reception Chairs in the hallway and in member waiting areas are at least 10 years old. They are beyond cleaning and need replacing. These are the Office Reception Chairs with arms. Gently used charis are also welcome.
Cost: $1,000 for Four Chairs
Designer Decorated Christmas Tree
We want to make our Holiday Salute to the Troops on Christmas Day very special. A beautifully decorated Christmas Tree would truly enhance the holidays for our troops and senior veterans.
