Stars Among Us
March 24, 2012 at the Hilton Hotel in Palm Springs will mark the 7th instal
lment of Mizell Senior Center’s gala event Stars Among Us. This year, the theme is Celebrating The Soundtrack of our Lives, hosted by Legendary K-EARTH disc jockey, Brian Beirne “Mr. Rock ‘N Roll. You will be in for a special treat as we take a walk down a musical memory lane with music from the 50′s and 60′s culminating in an exciting and fun show featuring The Ultimate Tribute to the Beach Boys by Surfin’ Safari.
Surfin’ Safari is a faithful recreation of what it would have been like to see the Beach Boys live, in concert, in their prime. This five member line up is unrivaled in their sound, presentation, and professionalism. Surfin’ Safari is as close as you will ever get to seeing the original five member line up of the Beach Boys. The incomparable beauty of their vocal harmonies, the crashing back beat of Dennis Wilson’s drums, the soaring surf guitar 
of Carl Wilson, and the genius of Brian Wilson’s music are all here. The uniband choreography, the Fender Guitar lineup, the famous custom striped shirts, right down to the black suede Beach Boys boots …. it’s all here. This year, we are honoring Rick Wade with the Gold Star Achievement Award, The H.N. and Frances C. Berger Foundation with the Galaxy Award, and AIDS Assistance Program with the Shining Star Award.
