CA Telephone Program – The California Telephone Program is a state mandated program in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. This Not for Profit Organization issues specialized phone equipment at no cost to Californians with hearing loss, vision loss, mobility, speech, or cognitive issues that are verifiable by an authorized certifying agent. Here at Mizell, members will be able to have a free hearing screening by an Audiologist for hearing loss. If there is a loss, a free specialized phone and training will be provided on the spot. Clients must live in California, and already have phone service where they live.

Hearing and Hearing Aid Clinic - The second Tuesday of every other month Help U Hear provides free basic hearing screenings, cleans hearing aids, checks hearing aids to make sure they are working correctly, and makes hearing aid adjustments.

HICAP/Medicare Counseling – Members have the opportunity to meet one on one with a trained HICAP counselor who is able to answer their questions about the various Medicare programs and procedures.

We Care Free Mammogram Program Desert Women for Equality sponsor the “We Care Free Mammogram Program.” This program is designed for women who do not have health insurance or whose health insurance does not cover this service. In order to participate women must be at least 40 and have not had breast implants. Please call Desert Women for Equality 760-325-4701 for an appointment. Walk ins will be accepted as time permits.
