Live Healthy!! James Gaede, MD, MA from Eisenhower Health Center in Palm Springs will present: Understanding Your Wellness by Understanding Micro-organisms – A discussion based on the Human Microbiome Project. This fascinating lecture will discuss new information about wellness based on recent discoveries from the Human Microbiome Project. The Project seeks to understand the “normal” organisms living in and on the human body (now thought to be more than 50,000 types!!) in the hopes that these “friends” will provide better insight into human development and wellness. Be sure to attend the Mended Hearts Program on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 10:00AM to Noon at Mizell Senior Center. Mended Hearts has been offering the gift of hope to heart disease patients, their families and caregivers for 60 years. The featured speaker will be Alicia Rios, RN, BSN – Coordinator of Cardiac Rehabilitation at Desert Regional Medical Center speaking on Exercise for a Healthy Heart. Managing Bunions and Hammertoes – Presented by Desert Regional Medical Center

Join Dr. Benjamin Wehrli, a Podiatric Surgeon as he discusses causes and treatments for bunions and hammertoes – some of the most common foot ailments. These conditions that arise as we age can interfere with walking and other activities that keep us healthy and engaged. You don’t have to just live with it.
