                                                                                                                                     Estate Planning & Elder Law Counseling – Eric Rudolph will provide one-one-one counseling for Mizell members on estate planning matters, including living trusts, basic wills, powers of attorney, advance healthcare directives, conservatorships, asset protection and advance estate planning.  Eric will also offer counseling on other areas of the law that are important to Mizell members, including elder abuse, health care, social security, retirement benefits, reverse mortgages, VA benefits, nursing homes, landlord-tenant matters, debt collections matters and avoiding consumer fraud.  Eric will meet individually with Mizell members, and their spouses and partners, for up to 30 minutes to help them solve their legal problems.  Eric looks forward to working closely with Mizell members so they better understand their legal rights and how to protect them.         Appointment needed. Financial Counseling – Scott Lanterman, a financial advisor, offers a free half hour counseling session.
1^st Thursday of the month: 9:00am – 12:00pm
Free for members/ $5 for non-members

HICAP/Medicare Counseling – Clients meet one on one with Jay Lippmann, a Medicare counselor. He can help:
Anyone about to become eligible for Medicare
Those whose recently became eligible
Anyone on Medicare who is having problems with their insurance
Anyone who needs help with Part D Prescription Drug Program
Anyone considering or needing help in understanding long term (Nursing Home) insurance policy.
Appointments are at 12:00, 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00pm. Please call the Center at 760-323-5689 to make an appointment.

JFS Peace of Mind Geriatric Care Management Drop In Program -
Jewish Family Service’s Care Manager, Helen Lowell will be on site at Mizell to evaluate your specific needs, make appropriate referrals and assist with form completion.
Programs we can assist you with include:

• Referrals to Friendly Visitor Program and Transportation Programs
• Referrals for in home caregivers, assisted living and board and care placements
• Applications for public assistance programs (SSI, SSI, SSDI , SDI, VA and other cash assistance programs and waivers)
• Applications for health insurance (Medicare part D, MediCAl, HMO, VA healthcare)
• Applications for  housing and food  programs (section 8 vouchers, senior subsidized, housing repair programs, meals on wheels)
• Applications for energy assistance programs (LIHEAP, CARE, medical baseline. Lifeline, CTAP)
• Applications for transportation (Sundial, SCAN and JFS express)
• Will be on Hiatus during the month of August. Will return in September

Steve Harmon Short Term Mental Health Couseling - This Program is for Short term, 3 -6visits, for crises or short term intervention with how life’s ordinary ( and sometimes extraordinary) issues affect you and your relationships to people and the world around you. Veteran’s Benefit Counseling– This program helps Veterans and their families with veteran service related issues.
