    Ballroom Dancing & Salsa: Part 1 – Learn to dance and effortlessly move across the floor as the dancer you were truly meant to be. Members of the class will learn the traditional ballroom dances (fox trot, waltz etc.) as well as the exciting salsa dances. Bring your experienced dancing feet, novice but anxious feet or both your left feet to share in this fun experience.
    Wednesdays: 3:00pm –4:30pm (Feb.22nd – Apr. 11th)
    $55 for members/$85 for non-members

    Ballroom Dancing & Salsa Part 2– This is a continuation of the class that started in January. This group has learned 6 dances which they will continue to master. It is also open to dancers with some experience. Former Fred Astaire and Arthur Murray dance instructor, Bob Rodriguez, will continue to amaze his students on how easy and fun it is to dance.

    Beginning Bridge: March Session –  Have you always wanted to learn to play bridge? Have you not played bridge in several years and would like to learn the style of bidding used in the 21st Century?  Students will learn the fundamentals of the exciting game of bridge.

    Computer Basics –   This course is designed for the person who wants to learn how to use his/her computer. It will start with an overview of the computer and what an operating system is. Students will learn how to use the internet, how to set up and use an email account and an introduction on how to use word processing programs.

    Computer Basics 2 – This program is designed for students who have completed the Center’s Beginning Computer Course. (If you have not had Computer Basics, but need an intermediate class we suggest you sign up for a Computer Tutorial.) In this course students will continue their exploration of Word Basics learning about page layout, checking spelling and grammar, and printing. In addition they will start to explore common tasks in Word such as line and paragraph spacing, working with columns, and formatting pictures among other items. This class will also introduce working with tables, graphics and mail merge.

    Computer Tutorials – Instruction is individualized depending on the needs of the student. In other words, you get to design your own class. Some possible topics that can be covered are emails and attachments, scanning documents and uploading photos.
    Thursdays Offered at two times: 9:30am -10:30am and10:30am -11:30am

    Beginning Drawing Class – Aways wanted to be able to draw?  Well, now you can by enrolling in this fun-filled art class that will teach you to actually draw what you can see or what’s in your imagination.  Using pencils, colored pencils, charcoal and all sorts of tricks of the trade will make you the artist you always wanted to be. All materials will be supplied.
    Wednesdays and Fridays: 3:00pm – 5:00pm (Feb.1st – Mar. 2nd)

    Beginning Facebook Class– Have you been wondering what the Facebook craze is all about? This 2 session “hands on” course will cover creating, configuring and using a Facebook profile account. In addition to creating your account, you will learn how to add friends, view and send Facebook emails, edit and tag photos, join a network and create, view and RSVP events.

    Cooking Class: “What’s the Dish by Chef Lynne” - Join Executive Chef Lynne McCleery for a six week cooking class. Each week a different topic ranging from soups, to pastas to wholesome lunches will be presented. During each lesson the student will learn easy ways to prepare nutritional foods while using a restricted budget. In addition students will learn how to do packet cooking, which allows them to make items to freeze.

    Creative Writing: A Mini-Session for Spring –In this four week Creative Writing class, students study the craft of writing. They begin with Writing Aerobics, a ten minute creative stream of consciousness writing. Then they explore a craft issue such as the use of dialogue, plot development, character development, or how to develop memoir themes.
    Fridays 9:30am – 11:30am  (March 9th – March 30th)

    i pad class – This class will introduce you to your i pad  and enable you to become proficient in most areas of basic operation.     Mah Jongg Lessons – Have you always wanted to learn to play the game of Mah Jongg? Now is your chance. Pauline Freidan, a player with 55 years experience, will teach you the joys of the game. The class will include the history and concept of the game along with methods of forming winning hands, playing to win, aggressive play and defensive play.   There will also be instructive guidance each week during play.  
    Fridays, March 2nd – 30th ~  2:30pm – 4:30pm

    The Mizell Players: Winter Season- This program is designed for a group of friendly theater enthusiasts who would like to hone their skills in various theatre genres in order to develop an interactive program which can be shared with residents in various assisted living facilities.  No experience is necessary, just a desire to have fun, laugh and make new friends in a non judgmental setting.  This class will be facilitated by Joan McGillis who has over 30 years of experience producing, directing, acting and teaching theater.
    Wednesdays : 3:00pm – 5:00pm (Jan. 11th – Mar 14th)

    Pastel Art Studio – Come and explore your artistic talents. Whether you are a beginner or have been drawing for years this studio will allow you to continue to learn and explore different techniques when working in pastels.

    Introduction to Spanish: Part B – In Spanish, part B, you will continue to learn vocabulary, pronunciation and some basic structures of the language and of course, grammar.  This class will give you practice in learning the skills to speak to Spanish speakers on a variety of day to day and travel topics. The class emphasizes Spanish spoken in Mexico and Latin America.  We will continue using the text 5 Minute Spanish by Berlitz Publishing. ISBN 978-981-268-456-1 and may be ordered at Barnes and Nobel or on line at Amazon.com. If you’ve already had some Spanish, then you would probably fit right into Spanish Part B.  The class is being taught by Richard Cabitto.     Walk Among the Stars… 4 Neighborhood Walks -Join your friends and Roger Freeman, an aficionado of celebrity homes, as he leads a tour through a different neighborhood each week sharing the history of the stars that lived there. This is a great way to see the various neighborhoods of Palm Springs and have a healthy walk at the same time.
